Got Files?

During the final phase of the OCRA process, LS&T staff moved files that users may have had on floppy or Zip to the hard drive of the old computer. From there, they were transferred to the user's new computer for continued access. What, then, if you find a floppy or Zip disk with something on it now that you've gone floppyless and Zip-less?

Fear not. LS&T has the following hardware available to ensure continued access to any data on non-standard (to us) formats that you may encounter:

LS&T can make the transfers to current media (CD, your memory key) for you if you just have a disk or two. Alternately, the drives can be signed out so that you can make the transfers yourself. If you just found that stash of two dozen floppies from 1998, you might want to go this route. Don't worry, we'll help you get set up. Just get it back in a reasonable time so that your colleagues can have a turn.

We don't currently have the means to transfer files from the old 5.5" floppies. If you still have any of those, rekeying might actually take less time.
