TU Libraries now has access to PressDisplay!

Visually stunning, PressDisplay provides online access to today's leading newspapers and magazines from around the world, presented in their traditional format and layout. 

With more than 650 print publications from 76 countries and in 38 languages, PressDisplay is an indispensable news source for anyone who wants not only multiple perspectives on the news, but also to see the original print layout/format, including color images, editorial content, classifieds, and advertisements.

The Edinburgh Encyclopaedia of Modern Criticism and Theory is now available online via Credo Reference.

With over 100 essays, this major reference work introduces readers to historically influential philosophers, literary critics, schools of thought and movements from Spinoza and Descartes to phenomenology and Heidegger.

Project Muse recently released a list of its Top 20 journals accessed in the past year.  The journals included:

Project Muse recently added new titles to its collection, including:

• American Literary Realism (2007-present)
• Journal of Sports Media (2008-present)
• Journal of Film and Video (2008-present)

Also, Project MUSE is in the process of updating the look of its website in order to improve navigation and the user experience. The first phase of updating has just been unveiled: a new look for the journal articles.   MUSE has updated the look and format of the article page to provide users with more functionality and more information specific to the article.

TU Libraries now has access to Alternative Press Index Archives (1969-1990) which indexes roughly 290 alternative, radical and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines reporting and analyzing the practices of cultural, economic, political and social change. 

The Archives can be searched simultaneously with Alternative Press Index (1991-present), providing increased coverage.

Literature Online (LION) recently added four new full-text journals to its collection:

• Conradian (2004-present)  [Publication Information]
• John Clare Society Journal (2006-present)  [Publication Information]
• Langston Hughes Review (2002-present)  [Publication Information]
  
• The Year's Work in English Studies (2007-present)  [Publication Information]

Literature Online also released 47 new or revised author biographies.  Specially commissioned these biographies give an authoritative and accessible overview of the author's life, work and critical reception. The biographies can be found by following links from Author Pages, by using Search: Criticism and Reference, or simply by entering an author's name in Quick Search.

Accessing and understanding multiple viewpoints on controversial issues has just gotten easier with a new browseable Pro/Con section in CQ Researcher.  Browse Pro/Cons in over 200 topic areas including: abortion, air pollution, elections, Iraq, privacy, television, and many more. 

Users can access this new browse feature from the left navigational menu on the homepage. 

Lexis-Nexis Academic recently released a new design.  While the display looks different, the functionality remains the same.  More information about the new interface is available here.

Lexis-Nexis Academic also recently expanded its foreign press coverage, including six new publications: Bundesanzeiger Zentralhandelsregister, Der Tagesspiegel, La Lettre A, Evening Herald (Ireland), J/M, and Der Standard.  More information about these news publications is available here.
